Gilles Marchildon
Director of Communications
The Legal Network welcomed Gilles to its staff in January 2009.
Previously, he worked as Director of Communications and Development at World University Service of Canada (WUSC), an international development agency. Prior to that, he was Executive Director at Egale Canada, a national advocacy group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-identified (LGBT) people, where he helped champion the cause of same-sex marriage. He has also held positions with TVOntario and the Ontario Arts Council.
Fluently bilingual in English and French, Gilles has written for both mainstream and community publications. His opinion pieces and columns have appeared in the Globe and Mail, the Winnipeg Free Press, Rabble.ca, Fugues, Uptown Magazine and Swerve, for which he was editor for four years.
Gilles holds a Bachelor of Social Science with specialization in Political Science from the University of Ottawa and an Arts Management Certificate from The Banff Centre for Management.
