1st Annual Symposium on HIV, Law and Human Rights:
“From Evidence and Principle to Policy and Practice”
Saturday, June 13, 2009 Courtyard by Marriott Hotel
475 Yonge St. (between Wood St. and Alexander St.), Toronto
What’s the one thing Canada’s politicians could do right away
to save thousands of lives across the world?
Should HIV-positive people go to jail if they don’t tell their potential sexual partners about their status?
Shouldn’t people in prison still enjoy the same level of healthcare as the rest of society?
The Legal Network invites policy-makers, legal professionals, health researchers, activists, and people living with or vulnerable to HIV/AIDS to discuss these questions and others at this Symposium on HIV, Law and Human Rights — a combination of panel discussions and training workshops on advancing Canadian law and policy, based on scientific evidence and human rights principles.
